Lok Adalat disposes off 22 cases
SEPPA, Sept 25: 22 cases have been disposed off out of the 56 in Lok Adalat by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), East Kameng.
EAC (Jud) Dochora Lama, OC, PS, Seppa Lod Tabyo, Social Worker Madang Sonam, Advocate Nama Dodum and Advocate Jagu Gyadi were the members of the Lok Adalat Bench.

TTFI assures to help develop TT in Arunachal
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has assured to extend all possible support and help for promotion and development of Table Tennis in Arunachal Pradesh. ANYA condemns Govt for wastage of public money
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) East Kameng district Unit today condemned the state government for misusing public fund in building useless infrastructure.
Citing a glaring example of public moneywastage, ANYA unit said that the new DC Bungalow of Seppa, which was constructed in 2001, has never been commissioned for official use.
ANYA unit also claimed that there are so many Govt. buildings in interior places of the district which are still lying unused. The association also held the district administration responsible for this kind wastage of public money.
‘Eviction no solution to land encroachment problem’
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: Capital Complex Land Affected Peoples’ Forum (CCLAPF) has urged the state government to find a wise and logical solution to the government land encroachment problem that would be acceptable to all.
“The encroachment over government land has reached such an extent that eviction drive, apart from RoW, is neither a solution nor practically feasible,” CCLAPF opined in a release.
The Forum criticized, without naming, some bureaucrats/ technocrats for allegedly providing ‘wrong feedback’ to the political bosses in the government.
“If our government faces any trouble from the common masses, then the top ranking bureaucrats in the state would be liable for misguiding / misleading the peoples’ friendly and welfare government,” it cautioned.

ITANAGAR, Sept 25: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today demanded for appointment of SSA teachers against 22 primary schools in Lohit district.
APCC, in a letter addressed to the education minister, said that although 22 new government primary schools have been established in the district not a single teacher has been posted in those schools which has adversely affected the study of the students.

ITANAGAR, Sept 25: The City Service Maxicab Association (CSMA) today opposed the engagement of child labours as handyman.

Assoc. seeks action against illegal timber operation
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: The All Puyu Panchayat Youth Welfare Association has demanded the authority to immediately stop the illegal timber operation in its area.

Cleanliness drive by NSS volunteers at Bordumsa
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: The NSS unit of GHSS, Bordumsa organized a cleanliness drive at Bordumsa yesterday to mark the NSS foundation day.

Tuki asserted that departmental issues should not cause delay in submission of the proposal and gave 15 days to sort out all issues so that the final proposal is ready for submission.
In another meeting with UD and department of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Chief Minister was apprised of the proposal for construction of outdoor stadiums at Chimpu, Yupia, Pasighat, Ziro, Aalo, Daporijo and Tezu. The UD department through its consultants made PowerPoint presentations on design, construction and capacities of the proposed stadiums.
According to a consultant, the stadium at Yupia would be of international standard with a seating capacity of 15,000 spectators and include a standard football field and eight tracks for athletics. It would have all amenities like toilets, dormitories, dining area, recreational hall, media room, conference hall and parking space for at least 450 cars. ITANAGAR, Sept 25: A one-
In his inaugural speech, Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) Joint Director (BSD) Dr. Riken Rina urged all faith based organizations to become a partner in voluntary blood donation.
He said that the members of faith based organizations practice healthy life styles, belong to low risk population and they have large membership of youth populations which is the mainstay of safe blood and quality blood transfusion. He said that blood donation is the greatest gift given by the God to mankind to save fellow brethren. APSACS Deputy Director (Blood Safety) Dr. Nabam Budh spoke on the role of faith based organizations in voluntary blood donation. He informed that all religious bodies in our country conduct blood donation camps on regular basis as blood has no substitute; it can only be transfused from one person to another person to save a person’s life.
The role of religious organizations is vital for the collection and transfusion of safe blood as it is generally seen that members of religious bodies profess healthy lifestyles, he added.
Participants from various church denominations, such as Catholic, Baptist, Revivalists and Pentecost and from other religious organizations, like IDEA and the Art of Living participated in the sensitization programme.

KOHIMA, Sept 25: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio declared open the third summit of sustainable mountain development summit (SMDS) here today with a call for development and conservation to go hand in hand.
Addressing the three-
Outlining the importance of the summit, he said deliberation in this event can impact the lives of millions of people and is an attempt to address the pressing issues that plague the mountain states of India.
Encouraging the initiative of SMDS, Rio said, “We should not try to follow the precedence rather develop our own developmental innovations and strategies so that India is proud of its mountain states.”
The summit is an initiative of Indian Mountain Initiative (IMI), which is being organized by the Sustainable Development Forum of Nagaland (SDFN) and government of Nagaland. It is supported by government of Arunachal Pradesh, government of Sikkim, UNDP, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Indian Himalayan Climate Adaptation Programme (IHCAP), German International Developmental Agency (GIZ).
Over 300 representatives from eleven mountain states of Indian Himalayan region, including Arunachal Pradesh are participating in this event that includes lawmakers, civil society members and government officials. The summit is an attempt to discuss and bring mountain concerns to the centre stage in regional, national and global policies.
Arunachal Pradesh this year has representation of 16 members led by Setong Sena, Minister for Agriculture, along with state legislators Bamang Felix and Ralom Borang. Participating in the event, Sena expressed its commitment for the vision and mission of the summit saying the three thematic areas of water, forest and agriculture that the event seeks to explore has great relevance for Arunachal Pradesh. “Arunachal has the largest areas of mountain, forest and water resource in the northeast. As we embark to tap our natural resources, deliberations and outcome of the summit will be of great help to us in formulating the suitable policies and management practices which would ensure sustainable harnessing of our natural resources,” he said.

World Pharmacists Day celebrated
ITANAGAR, Sept 25: Along with rest of the country, World Pharmacists Day was celebrated in a befitting manner at Arunachal State Hospital (ASH), Naharlagun today.
Speaking on the occasion, Director of Health Services Dr. Kartik Nishing highlighted the role of the pharmacists, who act as a link between the patients and doctors.
On the occasion, the Director along with Chief Medical Superintendent of ASH Dr. Moji Jini distributed fruits to the indoor patients of the hospital.

In this regards I want to lay down following few remedies which needs to be taken
by Hon’ble CM cum Minister Land Management for effective measures:-
1. The Public Premises act itself is found to be defective where there is no provision for stopping ongoing encroachment as like earth cutting, construction of OBT houses, Erecting of fencing, arrest of culprit etc.
2. The Arunachal Land Record and Settlement Act itself is found to be defective where there is no provision of protecting the land where Govt. has already established Administrative Headquarter, PHC Centre, School Land, Other Govt. Establishment Centre even at District Headquarter there is claim back of already earmarked land of Govt. with the help of legal means as there is no proper land acquisition has been done almost all the land under present occupation of Govt. There is also land dispute during the time of contract work, the land donors claim the contract work being the land donor and sometime land donor gets the contract work and the result has been found ineffective and not satisfactory. As such there is need for amendment of land record and settlement act in regard to land that has been taken earlier without proper land acquisition.
3. In village level there is land dispute among the land owner in which the land owner of Village land direct the house holder to vacant the house/building. This issue is needed to be address properly at Govt. level before occurring of untoward incident at village level.
4. The Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has appointed Circle Officer, EAC, SDO, ADC even AIGP for Police Land and ADC Headquarter for District Headquarter as Estate Officer of respective jurisdiction since few years back. However, till date there is no effective prevention on mass encroachment of Govt. Land especially at District Headquarter including twin capital city which needs special attention of CM. Further, there is Land Revenue and Settlement Officer posted in every district and they look after the all land matter but they are working as silence spectator or only reporting Officer and they have no role to stop mass encroachment.
As such LR & SO should be appointed as Estate Officer with Executive Magistrate only for land purpose to arrest/book the encroacher under appropriate law of the land.

Dear Editor,
Though I have never met Mr. Talo Potom, I have heard enough to write in defense of him. We may have many honest officers, but very few are both honest and bold. I suppose, our leaders have rightly recognized it in Mr. Talo Potom. Whatever the issues are, let us not fail to appreciate those who serve us with such diligence. Such officers as Mr. Talo Potom can be an encouragement to our younger generation. I appeal to Mr. Talo Potom to continue his good work. We need you sir for a better Capital.
